Multiple Inference and Gender Differences in the Effects of Preschool: A Reevaluation of the Abecedarian Perry Preschool and Early Training Projects1 commentThis paper highlights the differences in results between genders in the Abecedarian, Perry Preschool and Early Training studies. It also provides a method to account for multiple inference. I think it would be interesting to include results from the Chicago Child-Parent study in this analysis, and be cautious about the results from the Early Training study. While Chicago Child-Parent study uses a quasi-experimental design, the intervention includes two years of preschool and substantial parent involvement in the program. Even though Early Training uses random assignment, the intervention only provides 10 weeks of preschool during the summer for two or three summers prior to kindergarten.
